Hair Festival and Industry Day by the AHC 2024: A Recap

Hair Festival 2024 Highlights and Industry Day Insights

Hair Festival 2024, held in the vibrant city of Sydney at the iconic ICC, was an incredible weekend dedicated to all things hair. As a proud sponsor, we were thrilled to support The Australian Hairdressing Council's (AHC) annual Hairdressing Conference. This prestigious event attracted RTOs, salon owners, and industry leaders who gathered to discuss the future of our industry.

AHC's Annual Hairdressing Conference: A Hub of Industry Insights

The AHC shared critical statistics on the current state of the hairdressing industry and proposed essential changes to the existing training package. The conference featured fabulous guest speakers who provided valuable insights and inspiring talks. It was a privilege to be there alongside many schools currently utilizing our school program, which is mapped to SHBHDES004 - Create Classic Long Hair Up-styles and SHBHDES002 - Braid Hair. If you're interested in the future of our industry, I highly recommend attending next year.

Saturday: Setting Up at the ICC

Saturday was all hands on deck as we set up at the ICC for Hair Festival. It was truly a family affair with my husband Russell, daughter Holly, and even my mum Alice, along with Andrea, who I did my apprenticeship with over 35 years ago. The setup day was filled with excitement and teamwork, setting the stage for an unforgettable event.

Sunday: Show Time at Hair Festival

Sunday was the highlight of the weekend—Show Time! We held an exclusive look and learn education session where we showcased our NEW collection, Glamour & Grace. I was joined on stage by Andrea Dedeugd and Mary Tannous to help complete the intricate Met Gala-inspired looks. Before Hair Festival, we shot the new collection with an amazing team of creatives, including photographer An La from AJ Photography, designer Bird Skin, and makeup artist Karla Abdo. The energy was electric as we demonstrated the latest trends and techniques to an enthusiastic audience.

Our Stand: A Hit with Stylists

When I arrived at our stand, I couldn't even see the back wall; it was jam-packed with stylists keen to get their hands on our amazing styling tools. We were excited to launch our NEW Bobby Pins and Fringe Pins, which literally walked out the door in their cute little tins. Our pin range slogan, "Strong Reliable Bobby Pins," received overwhelming feedback. Other best sellers over the weekend were our 3-pack of famous Timesaver Brushes, Carbon Comb range, and our totally sold-out aluminium core Velcro rollers.

Monday: A More Relaxed Expo Day

Monday was not quite as crazy at the Expo, but we still had loads of stylists stopping by to chat about all things hair!
